What does a few kilo's excess weight (FAT) look like?
As I prepare for a quick trip overseas I wondered how much my luggage weighed imagining the hassle of dragging it around airports lugging it in and out of car boots etc.
I guessed perhaps 20KG's. I was off a fair bit. 11.3 KG's
When I made a few changes to my nutrition habits 9 months ago I was 90.2K's (in my mind a few KG's above ideal) and subsequently dropped 15 K's it was hard to put it into context other than clothes not fitting and belt notch receding.
I shiver when I think back 4 years ago and was still in the thrall of fast food and 23 K's heavier. Twice the weight of my luggage. Not only that, all 23 K's would have been FAT. I'm pretty sure my bones, brain, organs didn't contribute to the excess weight.
Reason for the post is to inspire action. When you lose a few kilos you need to pat yourself on the back because it is significant - less about how far you are off your ideal but being able to visualise what that weight looks like as luggage or a small dog and imagining carrying that around for the next 20 years.
Live large, do what inspires you and be well!!
