The history of all human achievement has its seeds in a ceaseless urge to discover and evolve, at the heart of which is a seed by the name of ambition.
Hopes, dreams and desires are the imagination's preview into an alternate reality, or fantasy with a faint sense of possibility. Ambition however has a power a thousand times more effective in translating the impossible into the possible and indeed actual.
Many people hope to win Lotto or dream of prince charming, perhaps even desiring a more fulfilled life, and yet there's a certain impotence to such thoughts. Ambition is innate. Ambition is the seed that when nurtured orientates behaviour. Ambition has emotion and faith in a result long before the 'HOW?" is revealed.
I fervently believe that ambition is a gift, much like any other talent, that some have and some don't. I also believe that we don't have this gift without the ability to achieve its attainment.
The universe has a way of communicating to us that is beyond our scope of comprehension. Almost everything we see around us was 'impossible' a mere few generations past. Space travel, GPS, wireless technology, nano technology and a myriad of daily discoveries. They all have their genesis in someone's irrational ambition.
The message if there is one is this. Nurture your ambition. There's a reason for those feelings of discomfort as you ponder the gap between what you truly, deep down believe you want and what you have. That discomfort represents feedback that you can achieve more.
Unambitious people are generally content, which is fantastic - ambition doesn't make us better people, but wasted opportunity is a shame. Nurture your ambitions daily. Flock with like feathered birds, and trust that you are ambitious for a reason, and that is because you have at your core the ability to succeed.
